Our cellulose insulation is hands down the best way to make your home more comfortable year-round and to save on heating costs in winter - the facts prove it!
Cellulose fibre insulation is an advanced, highly efficient roof insulation. Unlike other material types used for ceiling insulation, TopHat135 is an 85% recycled, 100% organic, eco-friendly material manufactured from recycled paper and harmless additives which renders it fire, mold, pest and rodent resistant.
The advanced process of the mill produces a light wool-like material, which effectively traps air pockets which form a resistance to the movement of air.
During winter the heat generated by your heater or fireplace, moves up through your ceiling, reducing your home's temperature and increasing your heating bills. The ceiling insulation barrier stops this heat loss through your ceiling, effectively saving you considerable heating costs. The transmission of air from hot to cold is reduced by over 88%, keeping you warm in winter.
During summer, the hot rays of the sun, penetrate the surface of your roof, and heats up the air trapped inside. This hot air quickly finds its way through your ceiling and into your living space, making your home uncomfortably hot. Tophat135 insulation is expertly blown into every corner and crevice, creating an excellent barrier, which reduces this heat transfer by up to 95%, keeping you cool in summer whilst saving you considerable cooling costs.
The bonus is, our cellulose insulation at 135mm thick reduces the transmission of sound by up to 45 decibels (normal conversation is around 30 decibels), making your home quieter and morepeaceful.
Also, our Cellulose Insulation takes between 20 - 40 times less energy to make than other insulation materials.
Insulation performance is measured in "R-value" (m²K/W). The higher the "R-value", the more effective the insulation material. Our Cellulose Insulation has an "R-value" of above 3.3 at a thickness of 135mm. The U-value would be the inverse of the R-value.
